An interesting quote from Holy Fire, “Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But, I repeat myself.”
Paul Lentz latest works certainly places him in a class among some critical thinkers. After reading this material, one has to admit that Lentz certainly has a creative way with words and phrases. Among others, this is one of the reasons why I enjoy this writing. With his latest effort, Lentz prose is smartly delivered in this book that examines religion, family and the power structure of government and its clever ability to enact and enforce.
A very interesting read, some may see Holy Fire as a limited undertaking, but the subtitle is; The power of a few who control the masses, and the Politics of Religion and Class in America. Our government comes under fire from Lentz, but he delivers an important political point while critiquing individual, systemic and institutional issues of the “ism” that plague our country. Lentz leaves the readers continuing to search for answers and understanding beyond Holy Fire

This book is a must read for anyone who desires a balanced, well delivered approach to understanding the power structures of government and the role of its citizens.
